  • A note from the owner

My name is Steven Martinez, and I built Stone & Steel around one idea: do it right, every time.

Stone & Steel is veteran-owned and operated, and we bring over 20 years of experience to every blade that comes through the shop. Whether you are a home cook, professional chef, hunter, or tradesperson, we ensure your blades are restored to peak performance with expert care and attention to detail.

For your convenience, we accept knives by mail and safely ship them back once sharpening is complete, making our services accessible no matter where you are located. Quality workmanship. Trusted experience. Service you can count on.

We are always happy to answer any questions you may have about our service.

OWNER, STONE & STEEL

  • Why an expert edge is different

You could sharpen it yourself. Here is why people don't.

A pull-through gadget or a home stone can get a blade to cut. It cannot get it to hold. The difference between sharp for tonight and sharp for months comes down to a few things a machine, and most home efforts, simply cannot do.

The angle has to be exact

Every blade is ground to a specific angle. A few degrees off and the edge is fragile, or it never gets truly sharp at all. Holding that angle consistently, by hand, across the whole blade takes years to master.

Every blade has its own rules

A chef's knife, barber shears, and a splitting axe are not the same job. Each steel, angle, and purpose calls for a different touch, one that a general purpose gadget treats the same way every time.

Twenty years of feel

After enough time at the wheel, you stop measuring and start feeling the edge come true. That instinct is the real difference between removing metal and restoring a tool.
